It’s about freakin’ time….

Well, it finally happened.  On January 31, 2015, Right Place, Right Time was released, more than two years after Accidental Affair.  Why did it take so long?  I suppose the short answer is…life.

I don’t know what the workings are behind the scenes.  I’m just a writer.  My brain starts twitching, my fingers hit the keyboard, and I tell a story.  Once the publisher gets hold of it, that’s where my knowledge stops.  When we start edits, I make the necessary changes, and back to the publisher it goes.  Do I wish I knew more?  Yeah.  Do I know how to go about that?  Nope.

In a way I don’t want to trespass.  I feel so blessed to have a publisher, one who has contracted a total of four books.  Numbers one and two are out, my editor and I are more than two-thirds of the way through book #3, and then it will be on to book number four.  On the other hand I feel I have a right to know what is happening with my own work.  I know the publishers have a lot on their plates, I’m not their only author, but I AM one of the side dishes decorating that fine china.

I hope my next novel, Her Sister’s Keeper, doesn’t take as long to put out.  The fact we’re so far into the editing process gives me hope that my third book will be out before the end of the year.  However, there is that thing I mentioned earlier: LIFE.  I can’t control that (you’re SHOCKED, I know), so I will just continue to write, continue to do edits and work with my publishers, and pray Life bothers someone else for a while.

In the meantime, I will promote the two books I have.  If you read Accidental Affair and fell in love with Special Agent Ted “Bear” Bristol, you need to pick up Right Place, Right Time.  My second novel is Bear’s story, and the early reviews have so far been five-stars (YIPPEEE!).  Then, it’ll be Sheriff Grant Donovan’s turn in Her Sister’s Keeper.  LOVE me some Alpha males….
